On 9th September 2024, RSL\u2019s Nathan Theodoulou introduced the new Rockschool Electric Guitar, Bass, and Drums Syllabus to the Singapore community. GBD represents the foundation of Rockschool, and these three instruments\u2014electric guitar, bass, and drums\u2014form the backbone of modern music, regardless of genre. This was brilliantly demonstrated by Nathan, accompanied by guest musicians Mr. Lee Jit Seng on drums and Mr. Daniel Crisologo on bass, as they performed pieces from the new syllabus, including works written and arranged by Nathan himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the session, Nathan took the audience through the features of the 2024 syllabus, which includes shared repertoire across all grades, allowing students to experience how different instruments interact with one another within a musical setting. The syllabus also offers integrated video content in interactive e-books, designed to support students between lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drummers will appreciate the new vocal tracks and metronome options, and guitarists and bassists now have access to an exciting partnership with IK Multimedia, the creators of the iRig. Through this collaboration, students can use AmpliTube 5 technology to access guitar and bass tones for every song in the Rockschool Guitar and Bass grade books from Debut to Grade 8. Presets can be downloaded and used directly within AmpliTube 5, including its free version, AmpliTube 5 CS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was also a wonderful opportunity to bring the Rockschool Singapore community together and show our appreciation for the partners who have contributed to the success and reputation of RSL exams in Singapore.
